Our Story

In 2020, we explored what a truly positive production system could look like in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our aim was to grow native species instead of imported ones, create healthy products, and support biodiversity and the community.

We discovered the Coprosma genus, a native plant family related to coffee. Over the next few years, we conducted research, funded by ourselves and grants, to see if New Zealand could produce a sustainable, healthy alternative to coffee.

Collaboration has been key, involving partnerships with Iwi, technical experts, nurseries, schools, and universities, all working towards a shared vision.
